Promiss FW19

Promiss was a women's wear brand with a design DNA focused on a mature target audience, specifically women over 40. The brand offered casual-chic looks from seasonal items to modern classics and must-have basics.

As a Fashion Designer Intern at Promiss, I supported the design team in creating and developing the Autumn | Winter 2019 collection. Some of my daily activities included creating technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator, researching trends, creating mood boards, curating digital collection overviews, and assisting the product development department in the fitting sections.

Measurement Guide

In partnership with the Promiss Product Development department, I developed, using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, a “Measurement Guide,” a manual for internal and external use containing complete instructions for taking accurate measurements from samples. When building this guide, we aimed to establish a “standard” way of working when measuring prototypes and samples, to avoid problems such as samples with incompatible measurements to the size grid or incoherency with what was requested by the development department.

To make this manual as understandable as possible, I divided it into garment type categories (trousers, blouses, blazers…) and included flat sketches indicating how each garment measurement should be taken. Bellow the illustrations, complete instructions were given accordingly to each garment, and a page with pictures was included to clarify the “do’s and don’ts” of measurements. In addition to that, the guide also provided information about the most frequently used type of finishings by the brand for each style.
